What “WILL” You Do?

Having a properly drafted will in place is very important, no matter your age or net worth.  It is particularly important if you have minor children.  A properly drafted will can designate a legal guardian for your children if any of your children are under age 18 at the time of your death.  In your will, you can also designate an executor, which is the person that will administer and distribute your property according to the terms stated in your will.

While you do have the option of buying forms to draft your own will, you may end up with a will that is not valid, as New York has certain formalities that must be satisfied during the execution of the will.  It is recommended you speak with an attorney to help draft a will for you to best suit your needs.
